Founded in 2023, Wusum Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in Doha, presenting the works of early, mid-career, and established artists from Qatar and the Arabian Peninsula. Our mission is twofold: nurture new talents and champion the contributions of artists who have paved the way for the scene to flourish.
The gallery found its name in Wusum as an ode to the Arab tradition of tribal signs, a practice with roots stretching back millennia and continues to be practiced today. By embracing this ancestral heritage, we aim to foster an engaging dialogue between traditional artistic expressions and contemporary art forms.
Spanning over 1000m², the gallery space features three exhibition areas, conceived to provide a vibrant environment for art enthusiasts, collectors, and artists alike. Through a rigorous exhibition programme and cross-disciplinary collaborations, we strive towards cultivating a sustainable art ecosystem, providing local and regional artists with a vibrant space that encourages creative explorations, innovative expressions, knowledge dissemination, and a deep appreciation for the arts.
